Interact - mobile voting from Roundpoint
The Cambridgeshire Branch of the Chartered Institute of Marketing made delegates sit up to the concept of mobile voting when Roundpoint demonstrated its new Interact system at the CIM's 3rd Annual Digital Marketing Conference recently. Interact technology enables an audience to text in answers to questions, and to see the pooled results instantly. As a digital marketing tool it is ideal for simple voting, a survey or a competition.The CIM wanted to introduce a fun and interactive element to keep delegates focused and attentive during the post-lunch session. Roundpoint's Interact mobile voting system certainly kept the audience engaged and was enthusiastically received.
During Roundpoint's presentation on ideas, tips and techniques for mobile marketing, CTO Paul Cox demonstrated the Interact system. The assembled audience of marketing experts were challenged to prove their knowledge of marketing by answering a set of questions which were displayed full screen. They were given one minute to text their answers from their own mobile devices to a shortcode. When the time had expired, the results were displayed instantly in chart format on the screen, along with the correct answer. Roundpoint was able to identify the mobile device with the most correct answers and the owner of this device was rewarded immediately.
The conference was educational on both a theoretical and a practical level, allowing delegates to fully understand digital technologies such as email and mobile marketing and the importance of integrated marketing. Delegates left the conference with a number of useful ideas to take digital marketing forward in their own organisations including mobile voting. Speaking about Interact, Terry Nicklin, CIM Branch Chairman said: "We were looking for something interactive and engaging to use in the post-lunch session.
