Roundpoint tops online fundraising from individual donors by through web and mobile fundraising platform Generate

Roundpoint, the web and mobile integration specialist, has raised the most money online from individual donors for the Cambridge Fun Run using its own web and mobile fundraising platform Generate. The annual 4 x 1.2 mile relay race around the Cambridge Science Park raises thousands of pounds each year for BBC Children in Need.

Roundpoint raised over £700 using its web and mobile fundraising tool Generate and through the platform contacted over 100 people by email and text to request donations.

Last year the team that raised the most money from private donors raised £305, the Generate platform has therefore helped double the amount raised from an individual team. In total, over £7,000 was raised by over 40 other teams who also used the Generate platform to reach out to friends and supporters. This has contributed to the total amount raised by the Camfunrun in 2010 of over £24,000 for BBC Children in Need. Last year £18,300 was raised when fundraising was done manually and not online and by mobile.

Roundpoint pioneered Generate to help charities raise money through private donors via two channels web and mobile and to help charities retain their own branding at the same time. Peace x Peace, a charity in the US first used the platform - a UK animal charity has also benefited from its viral marketing capabilities and 2 channels for donating, web and mobile.

The Roundpoint developed fundraising tool allows supporters to set a target, compose a standard message and contact people by text and email asking for donations. Generate is fully optimised for the mobile so that donations can be made from the mobile as well as from a PC.

Says CEO, Trevor Shonfeld, "We are delighted to have raised the most money online from individual donors for BBC Children in Need. We knew we would have to contact lots of people to have a chance of raising a decent amount of money, and we are very grateful to all those who have generously donated. Our Generate fundraising tool is proof that substantial amounts of money can be raised if multiple channels are used to raise awareness and enable donations."

Says Cressida Harding, Chair of the Cambridge Fun Run, "Working with the Roundpoint platform was a great boost for the Cambridge Fun Run's fundraising and promotional work. We really appreciated being able to integrate their elegant and easy to use web pages into our own site, right down to the branding and wording of email mailouts.
They're a talented and dedicated team and thanks to their efforts we managed to almost double the amount raised in sponsorship in 2009. Thank-you Roundpoint!"
